Aaron, thanks for this great post!

Creating optimal performance through flow and enjoyment in organizations is a passion of mine too.

The book I last read and loved on this topic is Chip Conley's "Peak: How Great Companies Get Their Mojo from Maslow" -- amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0787988618/index02-20/ref=nosim -- basically, he gives prescriptions on how to utilize Maslow's hierarcy of needs (simplified: security --> success --> self-actualization) when relating to Clients, Customers, and Investors.

Cheers,
George
